September has been a busy month for our Veteran fencers with 2 key events taking place:
- Welsh Veteran National Championships
- Veteran Winton Cup

Welsh Fencing are pleased to announce that we have been informed that the Senior & Veteran Championships will be going ahead in 2026.
The venue is Lagos, Nigeria. It will be held at Charterhouse School.

Welsh Fencing is delighted to select the following athletes to represent Wales at the 2025 Cadet Winton over the weekend of the 21st-22nd December 2025 at Bromsgrove School, Worcestershire.
The Cadet Winton is a long-standing event that brings fencers from across the UK together for two days of fun, fencing and camaraderie

Anti-doping is an important part of all National Governing Body’s responsibility. British Fencing take a clear lead on many aspects, however, as the NGB here in Wales, there are some crucial actions that we ne need to take to ensure that all Welsh Fencers are aware of the responsibilities on them, and where information and support can be accessed.
WF are pleased to introduce the ADP Cymru - an Athlete Development Programme focussed on the needs of Welsh fencers. We want to create a fencing organisation that the people of Wales can be proud to represent, support and aspire to be part of; creating a group that exhibits the best standards of personal character but also excels in technical, physical and tactical competence. The primary function of the Commonwealth Fencing Federation is to encourage the development of Fencing within Commonwealth countries and territories. Membership is open to national governing bodies of fencing in Commonwealth countries and territories. One of the CFF's key roles is to arrange for the regular staging of Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Events are run at Senior, Cadet & Junior, and Veteran age groups.

The Welsh Open is a 6 Weapon event that has now been running for over 50 years. It is still a major event on the tournament circuit, and attracts a large number of fencers.
We have a dedicated website that includes full details of the event, plus links to archive results.
The Winton Cup is a regional event. The senior event runs in the Summer, in Nottingham; the Youth event runs in December.
